Drive over your desktop with Cursor Car
Cursor Car is a free app that turns your cursor into an animated car. You can drive your car all around your desktop, leaving skid marks behind. It can still be used as a standard cursor to select options.
Some cursor-related apps have their uses, like Mouse Locator; others are just for fun, like Soundy Mouse. Cursor Car fits into the latter category and aims to add more humor to your desktop by replacing your cursor with a cartoon car.
Turn your cursor into a car
Once you have loaded up Cursor Car, a little icon in the shape of a car will appear on your screen. Click it, and the app will take over your cursor. Instead of the traditional arrow, your cursor will become a cartoon car controlled by a keyboard in the same manner as a 2D driving game.
A keyboard-controlled cursor
If you have ever played an old-school, top-down driving game, you should not have a problem grasping the new keyboard controls. Left and right will change the orientation of your cursor, while the up key will drive it forward. Space selects icons and buttons. If you want to leave the program, simply push escape.
Can run into glitches
Cursor Car suffers from a glitch on certain systems, which prevents the car from appearing, but this does not interfere with the controls. As a result, the cursor will still look like a standard cursor. The control mechanics will be the same, but the glitch defeats the app's purpose by making the car invisible.
A novelty app
Cursor Car is very much a novelty app. The keyboard control might have limited uses if you have problems with your mouse, but simpler options are available. But at the end of the day, the app exists as a little whimsey.
